Spring Yellows

I've been playing around again with some of my own spring
items and those things coming in for the sale.  I don't think I've
ever has so much fun as I do now with arranging.  With every new item that I
bring into my home for my upcoming Open House, come more and
more opportunities for creating new vignettes. It's like having
an endless supply of toys.
My favorite time of spring is when the forsythia and the daffodils bloom

at the same time brightening up the outside landscape with their

brilliant yellow.  Last year I decided I wanted to bring some of that
yellow inside to brighten up the interior of my home and I made
this arrangement with faux forsythia I purchased from JoAnn's.

I decided to use faux flowers so that I could use them year after
year and not be continually cutting on my outside bushes.  I made
several arrangements and have a wreath for the front door to match.
This large crock sits in my non-functioning fireplace and in the summer
I switch over to sunflowers and poinsettas during Christmas.

I'm working on a group of picture frames that I want to turn into
black boards and decided to go a little on the wild side and paint
one bright yellow.  It made the perfect partner for this fireplace trio.

If the weather stays warm, any day now the forsythia should pop out
and the outside of my home will match the inside.  I can hardly
wait for my favorite splash of  spring color.

There is nothing like the yellow of forsythia to shout Spring, yours is just perfect.

I love yellow because it's a happy color. Your forsythia arrangement is wonderful with the cream and blue pot and I love the contrast of the green and bricks in the picture.

I noticed the other day that my hedge of forsythia's are getting ready to bloom. When the whole side of our property is brilliant yellow it just seems to light up the outside of the house! My daffodils are ready to open any day now too! Before I read your post I was thinking about going out to cut some branches and forcing them inside in a vase. Your vignette looks so pretty in front of your fireplace! A sure sign of Spring!~Hugs, Patti

I love the bright yellows of daffodils and forsythia. My forsythia still gets leaves on it, but it hasn't bloomed for a couple of years. I'm not sure why.
