Brown Transfer ware

My first exposure to brown transfer ware was
when I read The Old Sideboard Redo over
at Cabin and Cottage.
It was love at first sight.  I was not only
impressed with the delicate beauty of the
cream and brown dishes,
but also with Jacqueline's blog
and her artful way of displaying
her collection.
My mosaic today is of my own brown
transfer ware ~ which only consists of
three pieces ~ but I love every piece in
my new collection.

Brown transfer ware is beautiful in any season,
but I especially love it for November.
It seems the appropriate choice as
leaves softly fall and color fades from
the countryside, while nature leaves us with
its own palette of browns and creamy whites.

I'm linking with Little Red House
for Mosaic Monday.

Hi Cindy! How wonderful your collection looks! Really beautiful samples, but then I've never seen a piece I didn't like! Your mosaic is fabulous, I love the sprig of cotton boll! So unexpected! So nice to know my post introduced you to one of my favorite things ever! I'm honored to be mentioned! Jacqueline

My Mom collected an entire set, I believe service for 10 or 12, I still remember the scenes. I love brown, there is something comforting about it. It's very relaxed. Also it still lends a masculine feel, to cottage decor which is a good thing.

You be saddened to hear that my mother had a tone of the brown transferware but we sold it years ago in a garage sale... eee gads!

Oh yes! I have a soft spot for transferware of just about any color, but I DO love the browns at this time of year. Thanks for sharing your collection at MM. :)

Hi Cindy, I do not remember exactly what filter I used, but it was one that gave the picture a painting look and I just pushed the intensity to the extreme. Kim Klassen at The Cafe is holding a free workshop of running Photoshop, I took her last session and learned a lot.
