Warm and Fuzzy Snow

I've spent the whole day putting away Christmas
decorations and sorting through things ~ trying as I
do every end-of-year, to get myself organized.
The problem with sorting and organizing is that things
usually get worse before they get better.
~
Along the way and through the clutter, I took
time out to play and arrange a few new
vignettes for winter.

That's the fun thing about cleaning out ~ you come across
things you forgot you had and find new creative ways to use them.
I'm using my brown transfer ware plate with an arrangement
of artificial evergreens, cotton, and pine cones.
~
Brown transfer ware is my fave and I adore this old plate!
I got it at a yard sale this summer for $.50.
I love to display it in any way I can.

I love the crackle finish on this urn.  It adds so
much character to the piece and gives it an aged look.

When mixed with evergreens, the cotton reminds me
of snow ~  only the warm and fuzzy kind.

I'll take my snow in this form anytime.

Guess I'd better stop playing around and get back to cleaning.

Beautiful vignette! I have one of those plates too. I think it's Hall and the pattern Farm. I love the tab handles and the scene. Pretty urn and greenery too!

Seriously love brown transfer ware...and to think you got that plate for 50 cents! Your vignette sets the perfect Winter mood and I like how you incorporated the cotton buds...I have a little dish of them sitting out that I picked years ago where my dad grew up, but I love how you tucked them in among the other elements to look like snow. Wishing you a warm and cozy winter and a New Year filled with abundance.

Oh I love your vignette. It is gorgeous. I would never in a million years dream of using cotton, but it looks fabulous. Love the brown transferware and the urn. Both are gorgeous.

Thanks for your visit and the gracious comments. I really appreciate it. You asked about the place setting and if they would sell. I definitely say yes. It seems that finding sets is really hard and most people don't have great goodwill stores. I think they would be great to sell. I can't wait to see what you've found. Hugs, Marty

Lovely vignette, Cindy! I have a collection of transferware in green, some odd pieces in red, and some pieces of blue. I would love to find some brown pieces - especially at the price you found yours. Wow!
