Soft Aquas
The sun is shining here today and it put me in the mood tocreate a springy vignette. I love collecting things to sell becauseit gives me so many lovely things to play with I could nototherwise justify buying.Today I'm in a pastel aqua mood and decided to show you thelovely aqua bottles I've been collecting. This one makes a statement by itself with a lone seashell ~ makesme wish I was at the ocean.
Here I've paired a few of them with a couple frames I painted and addedpictures of vintage wall paper from The Graphics Fairy.
Please keep in mind in all these pictures that I used faux flowers.Sorry about that ~ but nothing is blooming here yet.
I love the texture on these frames.
These pretty frames will be for sale at my Open House and I hopethat someone will love the use of wallpaper prints for the content and not just buy them for the frames. The fleur de lis prints I posted about several weeks ago were bought from my Etsy shop, but were purchased simply for the frames. I think these are really sweet and different than the average picture, but we all have our own tastes.
The rag placemat was a thrift store purchase and I bought it to usefor display purposes. I fell in love with its worn look and pastel colors. ~Now I need to ask you what you think of this young lady?
I just painted her ornate metal frame black and was going to putanother picture in the frame, but ~ I'm starting to like her.I realize I'm not showing you her frame right now, but do you think Ishould repaint her frame white and keep her as the content? Also, while I'm asking for advice ~ does anyone know how to get theinside of old bottles clean when you can't get down inside to wipe them out?~Linking withA Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday~The Graphics Fairy for Brag Monday~Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday

ReplyDeleteI love these colors. Beautiful post Cindy!
ReplyDeleteLove your Spring. And, if you have not tried it yet. Drop a denture cleaner tablet or two in the bottle add some water and let it soak, it's worked for me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful glass bottles..they make wonderful vases!

I just found a couple of sea colored bottles and can't wait to do something with them. They're not near as pretty as yours though! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese are some of the colors in my home. I love those frames with the pretty wallpaper prints. I would definitely display them this way :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Oh I'm in love with the muted spring colors that you used in your vignette. Perfection.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! Love those aqua bottles! Love the sweet frames with the vintage wallpapers, too. They all look so wistful and serene together! Just lovely!
ReplyDeletevisiting from the Graphics Fairy. TFS!
Oh my goodness how beautiful. So delicate and soft. I love aqua bottles too and have quite a few. I am so torn between aqua and the cobalt blues in my home. The wallpaper graphics in the frame is perfect. I cannot imagine someone not wanting it left in the frame. I have done like Ginny and use the denture tablets and I have also put dry rice with a little water and then shake the bottle to remove a lot of the grime from the inside. I love your blog and so glad I have found you. I am following you now too!!! ~~Sherry~~
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy....Really pretty vignette! I love aqua for decorating! It does remind me of the ocean and a peaceful feeling. Your frames with the wall paper is a great idea too!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteHi, im ur latest follower. I love old bottles and jars. The vignette uve created with them is really pretty, love the flowers. I think everyone has spring fever. Try pouring alittle "Lime Away" into the bottle. Swish it around for a few min, u can leterally watch the white fild disappear. Stop by if ya get a chance............Bonnie
ReplyDeleteFor cleaning those bottles that you can't get a brush inside, I use efferdent tablets. Fill the bottle, drop some tablets inside (if the neck is small, it's okay to break them up to drop in) & let them sit for a little while. Rinse, & turn upside down on a drying rack. EASY PEASY!
ReplyDeleteI'm having the same dilemma with a little girl that I found in a frame...right now I've set her aside till I can figure it out. Good luck!
♥hugs♥
very pretty! i love the bedskirt I saw on Mary's blog that you made, so terrific! I do custom work too!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love the soft color of aqua. The wallpaper prints are wonderful.

Love the soft and spring-y feeling of the bottles. Roughness in the details of textures on frames makes it even more pretty. Lovely treasures to hunt.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, thanks for visiting my blog and your lovely comments. Lovely post...the aqua bottles are beautiful! Robx
ReplyDeleteSomehow this color scheme is so soothing and appealing, Cindy. I do think the young lady adds a lot to this vignette and would be wonderful with it. As far as cleaning old bottles, I got some different sized baby bottle brushes, some bristles and some foam and they work really well to get in the nooks and crannies. Soaking overnight with a drop of bleach in the water is good, too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI *l*o*v*e* the light colours!
